Hi! I'm Dawn Edwards, owner of Why Knot Massage Therapy. I have been a licensed massage therapist for 10 years and I am also a Certified Manual Lymph Drainage Therapist. I graduated from The Soma Institute- The National School of Clinical Massage Therapy, Chicago. Throughout my career, I have worked with chiropractors, PTA's, and athletes, always seeking to learn and develop as a MT. My passion is therapeutic and clinical massage therapy, focusing on the body’s natural ability to heal. My goal is to provide unique and effective massages tailored to the specific needs of the client. My skills in clinical massage are: deep tissue, lymphatic drainage, pain relief and management, sports massage, prenatal massage, and management of stress and anxiety.

My name is Tess Otero, I graduated from the Healing Arts Center in St. Louis. During my time there I was trained in a mixed variety of healing touch modalities including; Swedish massage, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Trigger point therapy, and acupressure. I am also a certified Reiki practitioner and enjoy blending this style of energy work into massages and bodywork sessions. My goal is to be a pathway to healing for the body, mind and spirit so you can live life more fully, relaxed and restored. I look forward to working with you soon!

Hello, My name is Aya, I was born and in Japan. I graduated from a Japanese massage school in 2018 and specialized in Seitai and Reflexology. After three years of massage experience, in Japan(early 2018) and Germany (late 2018-2020), I decided to attend to an LMT program in the states, I graduated from Bodymechanics school of Myotherapy and Massage School in 2022. My main focus is to see improvements after each session with you. My strengths are mixing in breathing techniques to induce a healing mind. I am focused on treatment work that can relax your mind. In our session I'd like you to take a moment of respite from your busy daily life in order to talk to your body, and to stimulate your own healing process. I'm happy to talk to you and work with you to find the best treatment plan for you. Thank you!

Dennis Frymire

I have been a massage therapist since 2009. I have also been an educator and the Education Chairperson for the American Massage Therapy Association – Illinois chapter. My passion for massage therapy led me founding and working in my own private practice since 2016 - first in Chicago, and then in the Metro East area when my family relocated here in 2021.
My style incorporates traditional Swedish techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and assisted stretching. I’m also certified in prenatal massage. While my training and style is more clinically-based, I’m a huge believer in the mind-body connection and the healing power of touch in and of itself. In early 2022, I brought Reiki, a form of light touch energy work that can help rebalance chakras, into my practice to better help my clients in ways beyond solely the physical body.
My most important priority as a massage therapist is to meet my clients where they are – physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. I strive to make my practice an inclusive space for all, especially those in the LGBTQIA+ community.
Outside of massage therapy, I'm a writer and occasional performer, unapologetic geek, and podcaster.
